Tree Removal Certificate
A tree cutting certificate is not required except for pruning a mature tree, nor is it required for a hardwood under 3 metres or a conifer under 2 metres.

Felling is also accepted for safety reasons, i.e. when there is an imminent risk of injury to people or damage to nearby property.
The City will also issue certificates when the tree specimen is impeding an authorized construction project or interfering with agricultural activities.
In addition, in cases where the number of trees required to be planted is exceeded, the City may agree to issue a permit for no other reason.
